Lions & Egypt
I bet you wonder now why specifically Egypt is
mentioned in relation to lions? Well, for several reasons:
Lions and the Pharoes:

1. I forgot to say that Iam Egyptian and Egypt is in my blood, even though I lived abroad and
traveled to a lot of places, but still Egypt has a special place in my heart.
2. In case you don't know, lions used to roam all over Egypt. Most of the lions used to be in Egypt were the Barbary lions
(Panthera leo leo), but also some East African lions (Panthera leo nubica) used to show up in the south of Egypt
coming from the area that is Sudan now. Unfortunately, lions don't exist in Egypt anymore.
I hope this clarifies why Iam allocating a special section about lions & Egypt. This section will have some interesting
information about the lions in Egypt in different times of history, hope you enjoy it.

This section shows how the Ancient Egyptians were fascinated by lions, and
how the lion played a big role in their religious deity...I wonder how does it feel like to live in Egypt 4,000 years ago
knowing that lions are roaming few miles from my house!!
Lions and the Romans:
This section will show briefly how Romans interacted with lions in Egypt during
the time they ruled the world......Those Romans were really not very friendly to lions like Egyptians!
Lions and the Arabs:
This section can show that just like all other dynasties that ruled Egypt, Arabs
were also fascinated with lions and their culture showed some incidents of their respect for the king of beasts..I bet they
respected lions a lot!
Lions in Egypt today:
This section will briefly highlight the presence of lions in Egypt today according
to my own observations, do you think there are any lions in Egypt today? Who knows:)
